The Scientists of History
It's crazy to think that we know how people lived, worked, shopped, and even had fun 1,000's of years ago! There are four general types of scientists that study to find out how people did ALL of these miraculous things!
Historians
Historians take ALL of the work of the scientists and research, write, and create ways for us to understand our past. Read "Learning about the Past: Historians Study History"
Anthropologists
Anthropologists study humanity. Basically, they want to figure out what makes humans human. An anthropologist might be interested in everything from the traditions of a tribe on a remote island to the culture of an urban community and everything from the past, present in between. Geographers
Historical Geographers study how physical features of our planet affect how people live and move through all of the diverse environments that make up our planet. Read "Learning about the Past: Geographers Study Parts of our Planet"
Archeologists
Archeologists study of human activity through the recovery and analysis of material culture. The archaeological record consists of artifacts, architecture, biofacts or ecofacts, and cultural landscapes. Read "Learning from the Past: Archeologists Study Artifacts"
