Where did Rome get it's amazing culture?
Rome has a crazy start, IF you believe in myths. And wolves. I love stories about wolves! Please open this outline BEFORE watching the videos and doing the reading, and then begin! Please read Myth and Legends and watch Myths and Legends FIRST, answer question 1 (if you don't like drawing on your screen, do it separately and show your teacher), than watch Rome Part 2 and fill out the rest of the sheet as you go. Transfer what you need onto your PIRATE sheet! |
Roman Government
|
The Roman Government went through THREE completely different styles, from a Monarchy (Kings and stuff) to a type of Democracy (representative of the people), to my favorite, a Dictatorship! A somewhat benevolent dictatorship, but a dictatorship never the less!
Have you thought of an Emperor or Caesar as a dictator? Please open this outline, watch the video, read Early Rome and fill out the study sheet! To the right is a comparison chart of our government vs. that of the Roman Republic. Below is a refresher image of our three branches of government and an image of the Roman Republic. Poster time!! Please illustrate a poster that notes the differences and similarities of our modern government vs. that of the Roman Republic. Use the three images as well as the text book as sources of information. |
Roman Expansion
How big did they get...How big did they get...
really, really, really, REALLY BIG! Roman expansion covered a HUGE chunk of the known world. Grab the your Outline and watch the video "Rome Part 4" to answer the questions concerning Roman expansion. Pull out your map that you finished in Geography of Rome and mark the limits of Roman expansion on the map, adding these limits in the key. |
